Ricky’s Special Report from the Expo
Siggraph 2012 is THE largest computer graphics conference in the world. I cover it every year as a reporter for renderosity.com. I decided to do a special audio report from Siggraph and have included interviews with Ton Roosendaal, Michael Nikonov and John Martin along with comments about machinima at Siggraph.

Expo News
- The Expo secured a location in Second Life, thanks to Pooky. A more detailed announcement will be made in coming weeks.
- Siggraph was a big boost for the Expo. We got two new sponsors and achieved full funding for this year’s festival. Thanks to 3Dconnexion, Smith-Micro Poser, Muvizu, Reallusion’s iClone, iPi Soft motion capture software, New Media Film Festival, and Anomaly book.
- Expo is partnering with MAGFest “Games on Film” in January. All jury films and selected screeners will be screened at festival.
- NMFF festival is accepting submissions. Expo will submit all jury nominated films and pay the entrance fee. Expo will be a part of the NMFF next year (April, 2013).
- We will be announcing prizes for the Expo next week on our Expo blog.
- Seventy films submitted so far, most come in at the end, get submitted.
- Lucy Georges won Expo’s logo competition.
